UI & Motion

Lately I’ve been exploring possibilities of animation within web and mobile environment. This is a hot topic: Google, Facebook and Airbnb are building in-house motion design units. UI animation is playing important role in guiding and delighting users. Recently Airbnb design team released open source tool Lottie which makes implementation of animations easier than ever before. I tried it and it’s awesome!

Here you can see a few small experiments I’ve done last week. I realised that possibilities are endless and exciting. Temporal behaviour of interface, UI guides and hints, animated illustrations, onboarding intros – you name it.

A few years ago I was designing Android application for diabetics. An idea came from my friend who is developer and diabetic himself. Here you can see UI motion sketch I created from static layouts. It was done literally on the fly – it took about one hour.
